Join Baku Marathon 2017 on April 30th and win the wind with us!
Following last year’s successful experience, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation arranged the second Baku Marathon to be held on April 30.
The Marathon’s motto “Win the Wind” has been shaped with the intention of promoting sport and health in Azerbaijan, and setting a good example of active lifestyle. The Marathon has been organized by the Administration of the Seafront Boulevard together with the Baku Olympic Stadium, and the Sport Marketing Group.
The Baku Marathon 2017 begins at the National Flag Square and stretches for a total of 21 kilometers and ending at the Baku Olympic Stadium.

The Baku Marathon 2017 will actually be performed as a semi-marathon (half of the usual distance of a marathon that is generally 42 kilometers). The Baku Marathon 2017 is open to anyone above 16.
The 2016 semi-marathon was held on May 1, 2016 and was attended by more 7,000 registered participants. Many people from Azerbaijan joined the event, together with participants from all over the world.
The Baku Marathon 2017 will result in three major winners among men and women, and is also intended to promote fun and travelling. Winners of the 4th, 5th and 6th places, will in fact be awarded with a tourist voucher for two persons to visit any of their chosen European country.
Participants reaching the 7th to the 10th places, in men and women categories, will be awarded by the sponsors of the Baku Marathon 2017 with gift cards.
Registration for the Baku Marathon 2017 is available at www.bakumarathon.az website until April 20. There is an admission fee to be paid to attend the Marathon.
- Individual regular fee is 20 manats ($10)
- Corporate fee (minimum 5 representatives from an agency) is 100 manats ($52) per person
- Students go free
Awards
Awards, all together with medals and certificate, will be assigned among men and women categories:
- The first place will be awarded 3,000 manats ($1,571)
- The second place will be awarded 2,000 manats ($1,047)
- The third place will be awarded 1,000 manats ($523)
